Here in the northeast it’s easy for us to get wrapped up in snowy recreation and brisk hot-chocolate strolls. But not everyone likes the cold (there’s a reason migration is a thing…). If that’s you, then here’s an idea: Book a trip to St. Helena, stay in the quaint Harvest Inn and take part in some warm-weather winter fitness.
The inn’s area features an impressive number of vineyard-side biking paths perfect for sampling that famous Napa vino (try: Merryvale Vineyard) while simultaneously burning off those not-so-famous calories. Stop by St. Helena Cyclery for the equipment rental and head out on their highly recommended “Taste the Wine” route. Sure you may be replacing skis with a cycle in the dead of December, but hey, when in Napa Valley.
