The Santa Maria Valley is home to almost a dozen different wineries and vineyards, all of which position themselves along a convenient wine trail that’s perfect for getting some afternoon exercise (or you could drive if you want to cut to the chase). We recommend the award-winning Burgundian and Rhône varieties at the Foxen Vineyard, which offers not one but two separate tasting rooms.
So get out there and explore the countryside, vino in hand. But be sure to fuel up with some famous area BBQ beforehand. You’ll need the whole day to hit all of these Central Coast spots.
