Obama + Food Trucks = Taste of DC

Share:

Picture this: You’ve just polished off a gourmet cupcake at one of 50 food stalls and trucks, and you’re about to make your way to the Beer Pavilion for a refreshing pint. As live music drifts across Pennsylvania Avenue and the sun sets over the Capitol Building, you think to yourself: God Bless America (and $3 tasting menus).

When it comes to food trucks, we consider ourselves experts. This year’s Taste of DC event crossed our radars because of its many eateries, live music and—for the truly daring—2nd Annual World Chili Eating Championship. And it’s located just a short stroll from many of D.C.’s finest hotels (we’re currently loving Rouge, a Kimpton Hotel).

Taste of DC takes place from October 6th through the 8ththis year. Trust us—you won’t want to miss this.

Passport to Paradise

Us girls (and guys) at Snique are big fans of international escapes (Valentin Imperial Maya in Playa del Carmen is our most recent bucket-list addition), but we can all agree there’s nothing worse than schlepping your bags through the seemingly-endless security line at the airport only to realize your ticket, passport and—let’s face it—composure are lost in the infinite depths of your carry-on.

Enter: Rebecca Minkoff. Her chic and playful passport wallets are the perfect solution for the girl-on-the-go. Get ready for a smooth liftoff.

An Underground Hot Tub As Nature Intended It

Share:

As the weather cools down, the ski lifts have been beckoning for us to take the Winter in full stride. But we were thinking: There’s no sense in booking a slopeside destination unless there’s a 90-degree underground spring to relax in post-run … right?

The Zermatt Resort & Spa, in Rocky Mountain Utah, rests in proximity to some of the area’s finest mountain runs. But more importantly, there’s a natural Crater 55 feet under the ground with a mineral-water spring that brings new meaning to the term “Jacuzzi.” Good luck being satisfied with any man-made hot tub from now on.

Say it ain’t so, Summer!

With Labor Day come and gone, summer has tragically, albeit unofficially, come to a close. Sure, fall doesn’t truly start until September 22, but as we find ourselves once again sipping a pumpkin spice latte while stuck behind some lumbering school bus on the way to work, there’s no denying it: Summer has taken leave of us.

Fortunately, there are places in the world where summer never ends. Places where warm weather and sunshine reign year round, and where snow, sleet, and freezing rain never dare show their grim, unwelcome faces. If a never-ending summer sounds good to you, check out these hot destinations!
