Summer Dreamin’

Share:

He’s at it again. Old Man Winter has been wreaking havoc around our Boston office. So, while sloshing through slush on the morning commute to work, it’s hard not to daydream about white-sand beaches and piña coladas. One hotel that boasts both of these things—plus an infinity pool and an ocean-view restaurant—is the Bacolet Beach Club on the island of Tobago. Oh, and did we mention it’s owned by former fashion model Gloria Jones-Knapp? Très chic, indeed. If you can’t make it to Tobago, we think the best way to survive the winter is by splurging on a few summertime accessories (and cranking that heat waaay up).

Shop Internationally with L-atitude

One of the things we love most about traveling is being able to pick up treasures we can’t find at home. A stay at Magic Blue Boutique Hotel in Playa del Carmen, for example, puts visitors steps from stalls touting Mexican handicrafts, colorful textiles and one-of-a-kind jewels. Well, thanks to L-atitude—a site that sells chic clothing, jewelry and home décor from countries around the world—you won’t need a passport to don international duds. Here a few of L-atitude’s made-in-Mexico pieces we’ve got our eyes on:

Get Handy with Touch Tech Gloves

Whether you live in the Northeast like us or make it a point to skate a perfect figure 8 at Rockefeller Center every holiday season (may we suggest staying at Ink48, a Kimpton Hotel, if it’s the latter?) it’s hard to survive the winter without a decent pair of gloves. It’s also hard to navigate a city without a trusty touchscreen device. Luckily, tech gloves make it easy to bundle up while mapping out directions to, say, that one bar that serves a rocky road ice cream-flavored cocktail (we’re looking at you, Death & Company).

Here are a few of our favorite tech gloves:

Passport to Paradise

Us girls (and guys) at Snique are big fans of international escapes (Valentin Imperial Maya in Playa del Carmen is our most recent bucket-list addition), but we can all agree there’s nothing worse than schlepping your bags through the seemingly-endless security line at the airport only to realize your ticket, passport and—let’s face it—composure are lost in the infinite depths of your carry-on.

Enter: Rebecca Minkoff. Her chic and playful passport wallets are the perfect solution for the girl-on-the-go. Get ready for a smooth liftoff.
